34th Gran Premio Industrie del Marmo, UCI 1.2 U. The race around Marina di Carrara on the Ligurian coast is one of the great U23 classics in Italy. Patrick Gamper was able to enter the list of winners for the Tirol KTM Team in 2019. And the race seems to suit the boys from Münster, Tirol, because 19-year-old Marco Schrettl, who has just passed his high school diploma, once again gave a huge taste of his great talent: In the last climb of the 174,7 kilometer race, he broke away from his three companions in in the lead group and flew solo towards victory up to two kilometers from the finish. But his three chasers were able to catch up again and so it came to a thrilling sprint in which Marco ended up in second place by a tire width.
