The 62nd edition of the great Wels Classic was held for the first time as a UCI race in category 1.2 and was then run in accordance with its upgrade: very hard and, with a 44 average speed, also very fast. With a good team performance, Sebastian Putz sprinted to fourth place in the small leading group and took over the overall lead of the U23 ranking in the Rad-Bundesliga from Marco Schrettl.
