Austrian talent Marco Schrettl is making the move to the World Tour. The 22-year-old has signed a three-year contract with XDS – Astana, as the team announced in a press release. Schrettl won the bronze medal in the U23 road race at the World Championships in Kigali. At the Tour de l’Avenir, he finished third in the prologue time trial in Tignes. He also won the overall classification of the Polish junior race, the Orlen Nations Grand Prix. The Austrian previously rode for the Tirol – KTM team at the KT level for three years. The team is considered a talent factory. “It’s incredible that such a legendary team is giving me the chance to fulfill my childhood dream,” said Schrettl, according to the Kazakh team’s press release.
