This borrowing from the cool Danish national football team of 1992 with a view to our current jersey simply has to be allowed: We are black, we are red, we are white, we are Tyrolean dynamite. Because the first stage of this year’s Tour of the Alps ended in exactly the same color as 2021: in red! Emanuel Zangerle secured the sprint ranking of the day and will start tomorrow’s stage with the red jersey.

“Today we absolutely wanted to defend the red jersey from last year. I was in the break with the later stage winner Geoffrey Bouchard. Then at KM 56 in Pergine the sprint classification came and i passed the sign first. Now I’m very proud that I can wear this jersey in tomorrow’s stage,” says a happy Zangerle.

A few seconds behind the winner Geoffrey Bouchard (AG2R), Karel Vacek (35th) and Florian Lipowitz (49th) finished in the first big peloton. Felix Engelhardt, Logan Mclain, Emanuel Zangerle, Linus Rosner and Moritz Hörandtner then behind them.
